Why Community Centric Technologies?
Technology should be a tool to improve your life, not a replacement for it.
Social media has become a threat to humanity - predatory software that has induced a
loneliness epidemic. As we progress through an age of parasocial relationships, online
narcissism, and exploitative algorithms, technology has increasingly become less of a tool to
support everyday life and encourage social flourishing. Instead, it has become a platform that
people must depend on for community. The same words said by text and mouth, but the communication
is all the more impactful when offline.
We as a wider community have a need to foster human connections, and healthy real-life
communities. Constructive community building is the antidote to these faceless evils, the
catalyst being tools that encourage and support face-to-face relationships and interactions. We
believe in knocking on your neighbor’s door, in concerts and live events, and in joining clubs that
fulfill your interests, hobbies, and aspirations. It is our mission to acknowledge that and create applications
that help you log off to pursue your goals.
Why Community Centric? Rather than dependence, we want to encourage social independence
from technology. Go outside and make a friend.
